Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC - Minister for Regional Development, Agriculture and Food; Ports; Minister assisting the Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade; Member for North Metropolitan Region
As Minister for Regional Development, Agriculture and Food, I am very engaged by the opportunity to boost economic opportunity in our Regions as well as bringing WA's agricultural sector into the 21st century through innovation and investment in science.
Education, especially as a vehicle for addressing social and economic inequality, is a critical issue for me, and for the new WA Labor Government. I have had a long connection with schools, driving a change agenda to ensure that our investment in education makes a difference and that every child has a real chance for a place in the sun.
The McGowan Labor Government is committed to diversifying the WA economy and creating jobs for the future. I have had many years of dealing with industry and I’ve spent three years in Canberra learning so much about innovation and what drives industry. Now I have the opportunity to put that knowledge and energy back into our State. I am very energised and committed to helping shape WA’s future.
